Couldn't Wait To Give You The Good News

Yep, so the South African Cricket Team or Proteas (as we, the New and Proud, Liberated South Africans, call them) - have been victorious over the visiting 'Windies'. It is a pity they couldn't achieve the feat when they were in the Windy City, Port Elizabeth for those who don't know! We'll just have to wait and see what happens with the current test, having achieved a massive 1st innings total. You see with the Proteas...you never quite know what to expect! I think they deserve the 'choker' title. It will be up to them to prove me wrong......and i certainly hope they do!

What does bug me though, is the fact that Gibbs was dropped after what i too must admit was a pretty long, dry spell in term of runs. Why should this bug me? Because the selectors are not consistent when deciding to drop players for so called, poor performance. It seems they are rather selective (pardon the pun) of particular colours. Many examples come to mind.......

Ag, nou ja - as proud we are of the new dispensation....we just have to accept the fact that some things are not going to change overnight. Yep, i still regard 14 years of Democratic rule, as too soon for us to see, or bring real change about - without having to resort to a Zimbabwe kind of 'revolution'. That, however is an entirely different topic altogether.

Since no one has commented on or offered an answer to the first post, i might as well let the cat out of the bag.

My first post was not going to be about cricket.....indeed, the topic would have been entirely different, but related to a major event in South African history.....
